Pokhara — the Himalayan origin behind every Himaal Pure jar.
Pokhara sits at the foot of the Annapurna massif. The mountains above the city are home to some of the world's most mineral-rich rock formations — and the seeps where authentic Himalayan Shilajit is born.
Why Pokhara matters for Himalayan Shilajit
Pokhara is the closest large city to the Annapurna mountain range — the region from which Himaal Pure's Shilajit is hand-harvested above 3,500 m. The mineral density of these rock formations, combined with intact traditional harvesting practices, is what gives Nepal-sourced Shilajit its reputation worldwide.
- City: Pokhara, Gandaki Province, Nepal
- Adjacent range: Annapurna massif (8,000+ m peaks)
- Shilajit harvest altitude: above 3,500 m
- Surrounding tradition: centuries-old mountain harvesting
A city at the foot of one of the world's great ranges.
Pokhara is Nepal's second-largest city, sitting just south of the Annapurna massif. From the lakeside, the wall of mountains is visible on most clear days — Machhapuchhre, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Lamjung Himal. Above that wall is the high-altitude zone where Shilajit forms inside layered rock formations laid down over millions of years.
This concentration of high peaks, deep valleys and metamorphic rock is the geological setting Shilajit needs to form, soften and seep during the warmer months — which is when Nepalese mountain families collect it.
Mountain wellness traditions that pre-date export.
Long before Shilajit was sold internationally, communities around Pokhara used Himalayan herbs, mineral resins and high-altitude botanicals as part of everyday wellness. Knowledge about which seeps are safe to harvest, when to collect them and how to purify them was carried down from one generation of mountain harvesters to the next.
Himaal Pure works with these families directly. We do not industrially extract Shilajit; we receive raw, hand-collected material from the harvesters and then purify it in our facility, paying source rates that respect the difficulty of the work.
From the Annapurna seeps to your door.
After collection in the high mountains, raw Shilajit travels down to our Kathmandu facility for slow water purification, sun finishing, lab testing and packaging. From Kathmandu, sealed jars are shipped to the United States, the UAE, Europe, India, Japan and the rest of the world with full origin documentation.
- Raw material harvested above 3,500 m
- Purified in our Kathmandu facility
- Lab tested before export

Why origin transparency matters.
We do not blend Shilajit from multiple countries — every batch traces back to the Nepalese Himalayas.
Hand-harvested by long-time partners, paid fairly at source.
Certificate of Origin on every export shipment.
Slow water purification — no industrial solvents.
Common questions about Pokhara.
Direct answers to the questions buyers, importers and first-time customers ask us most.
No — the city of Pokhara sits at lower altitude. Our Shilajit is harvested in the high mountains north of Pokhara, above 3,500 m, primarily across the Annapurna range and surrounding zones. Pokhara is the regional reference point.
